Salt Dough Christmas Ornaments.
Ive been trying to think of fun Christmas related activities for Makenzi. I saw on another blog, the blog where I got the Salt Dough Idea about making Christmas ornaments with the salt dough. But this time I didnt make the full recipe I only did 1/2 of it. Which was more then plenty for just a few ornaments, I actually threw some of it away. Follow the directions like normal but this time roll out the salt dough instead of making a ball. I used cookie cutters in Christmas shapes. I also took a straw and tooth pick (for the small snow flakes) to make the holes for the string to hang on the tree. Then bake at 200 for 2-3 hours.

Bakeralla Cake Balls
I love to bake and cook but I cant bake to often cause that's not so friendly on the hips! I came across Bakerella and fell in LOVE with her blog. It all looks so yummy. I set out to make some of her famous Cake Balls.
What you will need:
Cake mix, (cook as directed on box for 13 X 9 cake)
1 can cream cheese frosting
1 package of Candy Melts
Sprinkles (if ya want)
wax paper
Bake your cake as directed
Let cake cool completely and crumble into a large bowl.
Add the whole can of frosting and mix all together.
Once mixed make small quarter sized balls and place on cookie sheet
let chill for a few hours
Melt the candy melts and roll balls into the the candy melt and place on wax paper.
I have chose to make them christmasy and use some sprinkles you can
skip this step if you want when now is the time to add the sprinkles.
They are amazing! They are a huge hit in our house!
A few Tips: When making the cake into balls keep your hands as clean as possible. Rinse the extra cake off often it makes it easier to roll the balls without them breaking up. Also you need about 2 bags of candy melts. I tried to thin it out with milk and it didn't work it just made it a darker white.

A little more Christmas.
I was at Dollar General last week and I saw this cute solar light post with garland and lights wrapped around it. It was only 10.00 but we already had a solar light post. So I picked up a small strand of lights and some red ribbon to make a bow and then I went to dollar tree and got some garland and some small green, red and gold balls to make my front door wreath. Im pretty happy with the way it all turned out.
Dont mind my husbands face in the door, he wanted in the picture and wouldn't move lol.

Black Apple Doll
Makenzi is obsseded with baby dolls. Everywhere we go she has to have one. If there is not one with her she freaks out. We have about 7 in the house and 3-4 in the car at any given time. When I started getting better at sewing I wanted to take on more challenging projects. I saw a doll on etsy.com that i fell in LOVE with. BUT it was 40.00 and I had no idea really how to go about making it. So i searched ands searched online. Well 8 months after I started searching for it i found a FREE tut on how to make the EXACT doll. I was shocked. Here is the free tut and pattern Black Apple Doll
Here is my first try at the doll. I think it looks great other then one of the leg is slightly noticeably bigger then the other, Whoops.
I will make her another one that is more even.
Regardless, Makenzi loves it.
